Women's Day

Women's Day ❌ Judgment Day ✅

On the occasion of Women's Day, this is how social media content usually looks like:

  1. We can't sit or stand and smoke cigarettes wherever we want.
  2. We can't go to the store and buy a bra.
  3. My family doesn't let me go everywhere and whenever I want because I'm a girl.
  4. We don't have freedom of clothing.

But is this really what Women's Day is about?

No.

Women's Day is not about complaining about the small inconveniences we face in our daily lives. It's about celebrating the achievements of women and fighting for gender equality.

It's about:

  • The right to education
  • The right to work
  • The right to equal pay
  • The right to bodily autonomy
  • The right to freedom from violence

And so much more.

So this Women's Day, let's not focus on the negatives. Let's focus on the progress we've made and the work that still needs to be done.

Let's make this a day of celebration, not a day of judgment.

Here are some ways you can celebrate Women's Day:

  • Donate to a women's rights organization.
  • Volunteer your time to a women's shelter.
  • Educate yourself about the challenges women face.
  • Speak out against sexism and misogyny.
  • Support women-owned businesses.

And most importantly, let's continue to fight for a world where all women are treated equally.
